Day #2 of Contact Wearing

What happened to Saturday? Well after removing the lenses on Friday my eyes felt so irritated and sore they needed a break. Plus I was crashing over a friends house after work and didn't want to bring all that stuff with me (and then lose a contact in someone's bathroom.) But today I psyched myself for another round.

It still took some time to get them in. I'm a blinker; my eyes just sense impending doom and close! That's a hard reflex to fight. Someone I managed to get one in, realized it was in backwards, remove it then shove it back in again. Then the other eye followed.

The left lense wasn't as uncomfortable as it usually was. It's for the astigmatism so its thicker and I could always feel it in (the right side was thin and perfect and I never felt it). I still felt it in but sometimes I would go for an hour and not feel it. That has to be progress.

I took them out after about 5-6 hours of use. I didn't want my eyes to be sore like they were yesterday. So today was a better day.

Interesting account. Do you realize that we're both getting used to a new assistive device? Mine is a dental flipper, a temporary replacement for one of my two front teeth, which I had extracted on Thursday. I'll eventually have a permanent implant and crown, but for now, it's like wearing a retainer all the time, even for eating. I only take it out to brush my teeth (or freak out my kids with a gap-toothed grin!)

Glad you're getting used to your contacts!

Wow! Did something happen to your front tooth? Well good luck with it :-) It only took me 1 time to get the left contact in this morning. I almost had a heart attack

My tooth rotted from the inside out. It's called resorption or something. Nothing they could do about it.
